Breeding of KWPN dressage horses in the Netherlands

Darona (v. Johnson) & Emmylou (v. Valdez) received ELITE predicate

Today was a successful day on the central inspection in Dronten. Last week Emmylou (Valdez x Ferro) obtained her star predicate with 80 points for exterior, 80 points for the step and 80 points for the trot. Because she is already in possession of a sport predicate (Z2 + 1) She no longer has to go to the studbook inspection to achieve this. Darona had already been in possession of the star predicate in 2015. Darona is now running in the Z1. Today both mares were allowed to show themselves in the inspection ring. They have both become elite. What does the elite predicate actually mean?: the ELITE predicate is the most feasible predicate for a mare in terms of exterior and health. A mare with this predicate belongs to a select group of very high quality mares. A breeder with an elite mare has a healthy mare, with an above average good exterior and instance for the sport. Darona is 2018 in foal to the young stallion inclusive (Everdale x Uptown). The foal is expected at the beginning of May. Emmylou is also pregnant, she is wearing the stallion Desperado (Vivaldi x Havidoff). The foal is expected at the end of April 2018.
